Hushly ("the App") is a baby sleep sounds application developed by Purposelab. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Hushly does not collect any personal data. We do not require accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, names, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
The App may collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (such as which sounds are most popular and app crash reports) to improve the experience. This data cannot identify individual users.
All your preferences (favorite sounds, volume settings, timer presets) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
If you use the recording feature, audio recordings are stored in the app's private internal storage on your device. They are not uploaded or shared.
The App may request the following permissions:
Foreground Service (Media Playback): Required to play sounds in the background while your screen is off.
Record Audio: Only requested if you use the recording feature. Never activated without your explicit tap.
Post Notifications (Android 13+): To show playback controls and optional gentle reminders. You can deny or disable this at any time.
Google Play Billing: Used for one-time in-app purchases. Google processes payment information directly — Hushly never sees or stores your payment details.
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (when enabled): Anonymous, aggregated usage data and crash reports. No PII is collected. Advertising ID collection is disabled.
Hushly is designed for parents and caregivers (adults 18+). The App is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The app complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and Google's Families Policy by not collecting personal data from any user.
Hushly may send the following local notifications (not push notifications):
Playback recovery: If sounds stop unexpectedly (e.g., due to battery optimization), the app notifies you so you can restart.
Gentle reminders: Optional, daytime-only nudges if you haven't used the app recently. You can disable these in Settings > Helpful Reminders.
All notifications are silent (no sound, no vibration) because a baby sleep app should never wake a baby.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. We do not serve advertisements. We do not use ad tracking or retargeting.
You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app. Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request deletion of on our end.
